The XA curriculum is designed to prompt expanded practices, to tease out new perspectives, new voices, and new ways of story-telling.

XA faculty specialize in experimental animation, documentary animation, immersive installations, 3D animation, pre-viz, motion capture, IMAX, animated painting, stop motion, sound design and AI.

The program’s goal is to nurture 21st century animation professionals, leaders, and visionaries by encouraging students to explore and innovate new approaches to animation production and presentation.

TheXA curriculum is designed to prompt expanded practices, to tease out new perspectives, new voices, and new ways of story-telling.

The curriculum privileges flexibility, creativity, and research. XA MFA students can design their own highly individual career pathways. They have the ability to take an array of electives offered at SCA and can collaborate across campus with USC’s  arts, humanities, science and engineering schools.
